Portfolio

Most of my work is under lock and key (NDAs) but here are two examples I can share.

I help Zendesk champion their products and services by creating bespoke, on-brand articles.

I translated the heroic yet harrowing account of a French stretcher-bearer’s experiences in WWI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find your question?
Get in touch!

  • I translate from German and French into English.

I write and edit copy in English only.

  • Unlike many other countries, the UK does not have a system of ‘certified’ or ‘sworn’ translators.

However, as a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL), I can provide self-certified translations.

  • Although AI has come on leaps and bounds, you would still be very brave to rely on it.

Ultimately, if you need top-quality content with no errors or awkward language, only a professional will do.

When it comes to translation, a machine merely tries to match meaning whereas a translator can convey your message and voice too.

  • The more information the better!

Context really is everything so please provide as much information as possible, for instance, the subject matter, document type, target audience and deadline. If possible, please also provide the document itself that is to be translated.

  • Each quote depends on the specifics of your project and takes into account the service, time, urgency, required research, degree of specialism and any other complexities.

I typically quote based on a per-word rate for translation and a per-hour rate for all other services. For copywriting projects, I normally provide a quote for the whole project.

  • I invoice my clients at the start of each month for work completed the previous month. Each invoice is to be paid within 30 days from the invoice date.

For very large projects with new clients, I typically request 50% payment upfront and 50% after delivery.
